Curs de català – Mzansi Penya Barcelonista

Lliçó 1 (Lesson 1)

Tot el camp és un clam,
som la gent blaugrana.

[Joan Manuel Serrat i Teresa (Barcelona, 1943) was born in the working class district of Poble Sec. Son of a Catalan anarchist and an Aragonese mother who the Franco dictatorship had orphaned, Serrat was brought up in an atmosphere of financial straits and sad past times. His subject matters and his talent to communicate have positioned Joan Manuel Serrat as the great chronicler of his time. This singer from Barcelona succeeded from the first note sung and his social chanson has become the hymn of those countries deprived of freedom, here and at the other side of the Atlantic. Read more about Serrat here.]
